What the day looks like
Class runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Uncoiled Firearms, 30305 Schoolcraft in Livonia. The classroom portion covers firearm safety, how revolvers and semi-automatics work, defensive shooting fundamentals, a personal home protection plan, Michigan law on carrying a concealed pistol, the legal use of force, and what happens after a violent encounter.
The class uses realistic self-defense scenarios so you practice making split-second decisions and see when deadly force is, and is not, justified. Then you head to the range for about three hours of live fire with Chuck beside you.
When you finish you have the certificate you need for your county CPL application.
